It took four flights and some lay-overs, to meet up with the group flight from SF. But when i did my nerves turned into total excitement! I have found a bunch of awesome people from SCU and new friends as well. For sure the perfect adventuring buddies :)
Our first night we went walking around the city and happen to find the Duomo! To those non-art history nerds the Duomo is a beautiful, huge, famous, beautiful, cathedral, built by many different artists over many years and did i mention it is B-E-A-Utiful?!
Last night we went out dancing and found that Italians love American music! But music that was popular to us int he 90's. The fun classic dance music like Thriller and the Macarania :)
One thing that i have noticed and love about Italy are the planes, trians, and 'automobile'! Well its more the cars and scooters that have facinated me! The streets are filled with vesbas, Smart cars, tiny old cars, tiny new cars, never more than 2 doors, but lots of pasengars, and when there are small cars there are always MINI COOPERS! I love it. Everyone drives tiny little cars becasue the streets are so crouded and big cars would not fit through all of the one way streets. I saw a Range Rover last night that was buldging out of its parking spot and looked huge compared to the surrounding vehicals. Definetly made me laugh!
(pictures of the cars to come i promise!)
Today we meet our host families and stay with them tonight! I am getting ready for some intence Italian immursion :) Wish me Luck!
Love you all tons!
