Saturday Lauren (roommate) and i met up with some other friends and walked from one end of the city to the other, just because we can! On our way we passed just about every thing you would find on a postcard of Florence :) Success, we have began to conquer Italy!
Then on Sunday we spent the day with our host family. We live with Mama Giovana, Papa Valerio, Son (age 30 lives at home) Lucca, Son Fabio married and with four year old daughter Ana (all live a block away, and soon to come back from Sicily the mother-in-law. What an ideal Italian family, huh?! I love it! The dinners are loud and fun, most of the time Lauren and i have no idea whats going on, but it is sooo much fun to just sit and listen. Last night as Lauren and i were watching and listening we saw a typical Italian family swap: when 2 different conversations are going on but crossing over eachother, they get louder and louder untill finally 1 member of each conversation get up and swap places so as to make the conversations easier. Lauren and i laughed so hard we had stomach aches :)
So they took us to the highest church in the Tuscan province on Sunday. We looked out over hills and beautiful green scenery to find Florence layed out below us! Oh my gosh it was amazing! They bought us the best hot chocolate i think i have ever had, and lavender in little bags to hang in our room. Not only the first church i have stepped into in Italy but also probably one of the best views! Then for dinner home made pizza, jealous yet?!
School starts today, so I will update you all on that next :)
Lots of LOVE!
